GORES LANDING

Nestled on a tiny bay at the south side of Rice Lake, Gores Landing has been a timeless vacation spot for families that has lasted generations. It does get busy in the summer given how close it is to the 401 and 407, and if you go north, you can get to Cobourg in as little as 20 minutes. Being able to get to Cobourg so quickly, gives you effortless access to all the shopping, restaurants, businesses, or government offices that you may need. Although you have quick access to larger cities, you will find suitable amenities in town as well. There are small stores, pubs and restaurants, convenience stores, an LCBO, Marina, post office, Library and a community hall.

Just like any other part of Rice Lake, you will find phenomenal fishing by the Gores Landing dock and the Otonabee Trent River is directly across the lake that allows you to go to the Kawartha Lakes trent system if wish to visit or fish elsewhere. There are many small resorts just like Gores Landing as well as several camping destinations in and around the town which has also increased its recognizably among vacationers. Despite Gores Landings small size, it has a rich history. There are some beautiful historical buildings still standing from the time it was settled, like the White House Building on Kelly Road that was once used as a hotel in the 1830's, the Anglican Church and many others that you can check out while in town. Gores landing is for those that want easy access to conveniences and rice lake, while having beautiful panoramic views.
